Little rings locate heads on the full map. Choose a caterpillar for a closer look. Artwork extends beyond its cells; the dark head square marks the true collision cell.

Local totals, not global statistics. Only completed rounds join your journal. Resetting or skipping a seed leaves an unfinished round uncounted. A round ends at all deaths or the 5,000-tick cap.

How to read the numbers

Food encounters are newly visible food cells per caterpillar in its 5 × 5 view; continuous visibility is one encounter. Safe opportunities are live pre-ticks with at least one adjacent food action clear of pre-tick bodies; simultaneous conflicts can still prevent pickup. Empty denominators show zero.

Lifespan averages include ended caterpillars and cap survivors; death length excludes caps. Current lifespan means use only ended lives. Detailed tables retain every launch, tick, encounter, opportunity and death denominator. Tomato = red elite 0; Cornflower = blue elite 1; Leaf = green elite 2.

Autosave at least 5 seconds apart while playing (adapts to full-history snapshot cost), and on pause, extinction or switching runs. Closing a tab is best-effort only: the last committed tick above is the durable boundary. Full JSON includes all networks, hashes, events, configuration, population samples, metrics and the entire tree. No historical bloodlines are pruned.
